Grant Williams is an American personality who is a basketball player by profession and plays for the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Previously, he played college basketball for the Tennessee Volunteers. He was selected in the 2019 NBA Draft with the 22nd overall pick.
Early Life
Grant Williams was born on 30th November 1998, making him around 24 years old as of 2022. He was brought up by his loving and caring parents named Gilbert (father) and Teresa Johnson (mother). His mother was an electrical engineer for NASA and his father was earlier working as a Jazz artist and has remained a former college player, who has worked with various musicians including Prince, as a bodyguard. Grant Williams is the cousin of the former NBA players Salim and Damon Stoudamire. He completed his schooling at Ivy League schools Harvard and Yale and later received his graduation from Tennessee, where he spent three years pursuing his degree in business. At Tennessee, Grant received the C & C Millwright Athletic Scholarship.

Williams has earned the honor of All-Southeastern Conference player. He was awarded back-to-back SEC Player of the Year honors for the 2017–18 and 2018–19 seasons and became the player in history to do so after the record was made by the former player Corliss Williamson in 1995. While Williams was playing for Tennessee, he led his team to the third seed in the 2018 NCAA Tournament and the second seed in the 2019 NCAA Tournament.

Williams was drafted in the 22nd overall pick by the Boston Celtics in the 2019 NBA draft. He made his professional debut with the Boston Celtics while he stood against the Philadelphia 76ers on 23rd October 2019 with a loss in the hands. Later he saw his first win in the match after his debut on 4th December 2019 when he led the team to a win over Miami Heat. To provide support to the team, he pledged and announced that he would dye his hair pink if the players including Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, and Kemba Walker will all receive a selection. But later, Williams did not do so because Brown could not make up a team with the other one.
Williams completed his rookie seasons averaging points of 3.4 per game, 2.6 rebounds per game, and over 15 minutes per game in 69 games. With the appearance of the next season 2020-21, Williams began his second season in the league with a slight increase in all major statistical categories. He finished the season with over 18 minutes per game, 4.7 points per game, and 2.8 rebounds per game. On 21st March 2022, Williams took over the field with career-high points-20 and a win against the Oklahoma City Thunder. On 15th May 2022, Williams took over the field with the second career-high points of 27 and a win over the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
