Hallmark Movies and Mysteries cancellations include Mystery 101, Home & Family, and Chesapeake Shore for further installments.
Programs are mostly canceled for financial reasons -low viewership to low subscription or advertising revenue. This prompts networks to replace it with shows with high-profit potential.
However, this saddens many fans who love and cherish those canceled shows. Here are some of the most-loved shows canceled at Hallmark Movie and Mysteries.
Mystery 101
Hallmark Movies & Mysteries has officially announced the cancelation of the Mystery 101 series.
Created by Robin Bernheim and Lee Goldberg, the films starred Kristoffer Polaha, Jill Wagner, and Robin Thomas. The first film landed in January 2019, with six more followings.
The last film, Mystery 101: Deadly History, was released in September 2021. And unlike most Hallmark movies, the seventh Mystery 101 film ended with a cliffhanger with an 11-month time jump.
However, there won't be an eighth movie in the Mystery 101 film series despite the cliffhanger.
Kristoffer Polaha tweeted the news on April 24, 2021, writing, "Well kids, looks like the cat’s out of the bag. #Mystery101 has solved its last mystery. You are the most incredibly supportive fans ever!"
Hailey Dean Mystery
Hailey Dean Mystery is an American/Canadian mystery film series starring Kellie Martin as the title character.
On December 1, 2021, Martin took to her Twitter account to share that the film series has been canceled at Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
She tweeted, "I just found out that Hailey Dean is done at Hallmark Really sad and sorry to report." Nine Hailey Dean Mystery films featuring the title character aired between 2016 and 2019.
Matchmaker Mysteries
Matchmaker Mysteries starred Hallmark favorite Danice McKellar as Angie Dove, a celebrity matchmaker, along with Bruce Boxleoitner and Victor Webster.
Danice broke the news of the series cancelation on January 22, 2022, via tweet where she wrote, "They decided to stop making them, along with many others! Let them know what you feel."
In addition, Hallmark's only statement about the series seems to be an email from a network spokesperson to the website Showbiz Cheat Sheet.
The email said there were no more installments of Matchmaker Mysteries in development. The three movies aired between 2019 and 2021.
Picture Perfect Mysteries
Picture Perfect Mysteries follows Allie Adams (Alexa PenaVega), a photographer with a studio who is also an amateur sleuth.
Three movies of the crime-mystery drama aired between 2019 and 2020. Later the series was canceled.
Speaking to Heavy, the lead actress said the Mystery series is over and they aren't making another movie. Their third and final movie, Picture Perfect Mysteries: Exit StageDeath," landed in October 2020.
Garage Sale Mystery
Garage Sale Mystery is an American/Canadian mystery film series based on the book series of the same name by Suzi Weinert.
The film series starring Lori Loughlin as Jennifer Shannon aired on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries in the US, Channel 5 in the UK, and Bravo in Canada occasionally as part of the weekday films.
Fifteen films of Garage Sale Mystery aired from the 2013 pilot film until the film was canceled in 2019 after Lori was fired from Hallmark.
Weinert, the author of the book series, created the story and characters based on her own experiences living in the DC suburbs.
