UPDATE: The body of a man found in Discovery Park has been identified as 21-year-old Trevor Allen Wixom, according to a news release from Muscatine Police.
He was reported as a missing person in October 2022. For the past several months, Muscatine Police had continued an investigation to find him.
Police are waiting final confirmation of the deceased from the state pathologist, the release says.

EARLIER: Police have found the body of a deceased male in a park, according to a news release from Muscatine Police.
About 10:45 a.m. Friday, officers responded to Discovery Park in the 3200 block of Cedar Street after reports of a possibly deceased person found within the park boundaries, the release says.
Investigators from the Muscatine Police Department, Muscatine County Sheriff’s Office, and Muscatine County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene to assist in the investigation.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending further identification and family notification.

Reported missing
According to earlier reports, Wixom was last seen on Oct. 19, 2022, in Muscatine. After shopping with his father, he dropped off his purchase at his mother’s, then asked his dad to drop him at a friend’s house on Iowa Street in Muscatine. He did not return to his home, the Quad Cities Missing Persons Network says in a Facebook post.
Wixom normally had daily contact with friends, but they had not heard from him, and he abruptly stopped regular contact with his parents.
