A pop up brothel in a British town centre has been raided by police after one its punters gave his wife a nasty case of gonorrhoea.

Police officers who swooped on the Oriental Healthy Massage parlour in Commercial Road surprised two naked men, who were with two women to appear to have been working at the brothel in Swindon, Wilts.

A large quantity of cash was also recovered during the raid on November 13.

The raid was prompted after a local man had contracted the venereal disease in October and passed it on to his wife.

She discussed the matter with her husband, and passed on her findings to police.

Swindon magistrates have made the three-month closure order banning anyone from entering the Commercial Road premises.

Describing the raid which found the two naked men, PC Paul Bezzant said "The males were both reluctant to explain their attendance at the premises and explained that the females had undressed them."

One of the women was arrested on suspicion of being in control of a brothel and money laundering, reports the Swindon Advertiser.

She has since been released under investigation.

PC Mike Diffin told the court it was not suggested that the other woman, who has since gone to stay with her boyfriend on the south coast, had been coerced into working at the brothel.

But he said “only a full closure order would be sufficient to protect the women working at the property”.

The Healthy Massage parlour had come to the attention of the police before, and officers concerned about the appearance of ‘pop up’ bothers in the town busted the establishment in July.

On that occasion they found a duvet stuffed with used condoms and applied for a temporary closure order.

The letting company through which the property was rented was supportive of the closure bid.

Sexual exploitation officer PC Kara Peet said "Wiltshire has recently seen a rise in massage parlours that are being run by Chinese nationals.

"We have recently closed down several brothels in the Wiltshire area that were being used by a nationwide organised crime group of Chinese men and women.

"With an organised crime group on this scale as soon as one location is closed down another one opens and the women are moved around.

"I find particularly with Chinese brothels that the women are extremely frightened and are often in a lot of debt back home."
