A soft lockdown restricts anyone from entering or leaving the building while the police search the property. Police and school staff searched the interior and exterior of both schools and found nothing suspicious. The police department notified the school that the lockdown could be lifted about an hour later.
The Moline Police Department Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the source of the phone call. Detectives will be following leads and working with the Illinois State Police Statewide Intelligence Center and the FBI to coordinate information on similar cases.
Anyone who has information on this event should call Crime Stoppers of the Quad Cities at (309) 762-9500 or the Moline Police Department at (309) 797-0401.
